Rob Brennan

Rob is an Assistant Professor in DCU and ADAPT Funded Investigator in the Data Governance Theme. He is the Chair of DCU MA in Data Protection and Privacy Law.

He has over 25 years experience in both industry and academia having worked at the Ericsson Network Management Research Centre, Enterprise Ireland, Trinity College Dublin and two startups as before his current role in ADAPT at Dublin City University. Throughout his career his focus has been on socio-technical systems, the Web, governance, interoperability and semantics. He is active in European H2020 funding where he is Coordinator of the ELITE-S MCSA and developed and coordinated the ALIGNED project on quality-focused data and software engineering. His current research interests include AI governance, data governance, data value, data quality and Linked Data systems on the web. He is the author of over 70 peer-reviewed publications including 16 journal articles. He is also an editor or named contributor to 5 international standards on internet and telecommunications technology at the OMG, IETF, 3GPP and TMF.
