L10NUSA: Correlations between localisation quality and usability on machine and human translated user interface strings: a study using eye-tracking and telemetry
In an enterprise context, software companies have shorter release cycles, more volume and languages, and less money to invest in translation. This project attempts to look at how satisfied the user of a product will be if certain parts of the product are delivered with machine translation. In other words, what is the role of language in the user experience?
With the information gathered, I will be looking to enhance the user experience by providing data to create a better product, and potentially bringing down the purchase cost and improving time to market.
